Charlie Wright, M.A. LSP

Charlie is a Colorado Department of Education credentialed psychoeducational diagnostician who earned his M.A. in education from the University of Colorado in 1993. He is a past president of the Colorado Society of School Psychologists, has co-authored two professional journal articles on the Content of Undergraduate Transpersonal Psychology Courses and Reasons for not Reporting Peak Experiences. In addition, he was employed by the Institute of Behavioral Genetics to assess cognition for a long-term study that focused on learning disabilities.

Charlie has built a private practice while employed as a school psychologist in the public school system in the Boulder area for more than 25 years. He has worked closely with students in the school setting from kindergarten through 21 years of age: conducting evaluations, developing IEPs, advising and providing direct services to students with a wide range of learning and behavioral challenges.

Through his private practice Charlie has worked with college students to assure a smooth transition of services provided in the K-12 environment to university environment, as well as evaluate suspected learning challenges to determine if accommodations may be warranted in the college setting. He has found that some college students struggle to function in the post-secondary environment and benefit from a thorough evaluation of their behavioral and emotional adjustment and adaptive skills in order to characterize their challenges and build on their strengths. Many of these students benefit from weekly coaching to monitor their progress and implementation of their treatment plans. Charlie also enjoys working with adults who wish to improve their life management skills both at home and in the workplace.

While originating from New York, the natural beauty and outdoor access has made Colorado home to Charlie for over forty years. He enjoys fishing, cycling, hiking, snow boarding and river rafting. He loves live music and can often be found with a book in his hand. He has built an extensive network of professionals, services and resources from which to draw when working with his clients.
