How the Process Works

Clients can schedule an initial free telephone consultation to review their individual concerns and to help determine if a psychometric assessment is warranted. If so, we provide a detailed proposal with procedures clearly outlined to determine the total cost of the evaluation.

  • Most psycho-educational evaluations are administered in person with remote options available when appropriate.

  • Behavior and attention profiles are built through a series of methods that include questionnaires, in-depth interviews, client observations and file reviews. Questionnaires are completed by the client and those who know the client best in a variety of environments, and typically include parents (or other family members), and teachers (tutors, coaches etc.).

We offer both weekday (late afternoon and early evening) and weekend appointments.

The entire process typically takes anywhere from three to eight weeks depending on the number of procedures used and the speed at which the questionnaires are completed and submitted.

Upon completion of the evaluation we will have a meeting to review all of the results in detail. The client will receive a comprehensive report. This report will outline any diagnostic impressions, any educational accommodations if appropriate, and recommendations and referral sources if the client needs services beyond the scope of Boulder Educational Testing.

Two follow-up coaching and progress monitoring sessions are included in the evaluation fee. Additional sessions are offered on a fee-based basis.
